Is Ntoboa licensed by the Bank of Ghana?

Ntoboa is a technology platform and does not hold your money. The regulated financial services, payments, credit reporting, insurance and investments, are provided through OminiHub, a licensed and regulated financial aggregator. Your group’s money moves on those licensed rails, never through Ntoboa.

Where does my group’s money actually sit?

Never in Ntoboa’s accounts. Contributions move and settle through OminiHub’s licensed mobile-money wallets and bank/card rails, which are regulated in Ghana. Ntoboa records who paid what and when, it does not take custody of your funds.

Can Ntoboa really help me build a credit history?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your saving activity and on-time payments are reported to credit bureaus through OminiHub:Score, OminiHub’s licensed credit-reporting service. Over time this builds a credit history that banks and lenders recognise, for the group and for each member.

What happens if a member stops contributing?

Accepted Answer

Ntoboa shows it to the whole group immediately and sends reminders, but accountability does not stop there. Because saving activity is reported through OminiHub:Score, a member who stops is reported to the credit bureaus and financial institutions, which affects their credit history. If they have already received their payout, the amount they owe is recovered from their mobile wallet and returned to the group, and on an insured circle, insurance also steps in to cover it. If they have not been paid yet, it is still reported, usually with a lower credit impact.

Can the group admin run away with the money?

Every contribution and withdrawal is visible to all members, permanently, and the record cannot be edited away, so no single person quietly holds the cash. The admin is no exception: like every member they complete identity verification (KYC), and any amount they owe is subject to credit reporting through OminiHub:Score and recovery from their mobile wallet. Verified identity plus full transparency means there is nowhere for money to disappear unseen.

How do I know the other members are real?

Every member completes full identity verification (KYC) when they join, using a Ghana Card (preferred), passport, or driver’s licence. That means everyone in your circle is a verified, real person, with no anonymous accounts.

Ntoboa charges a small, transparent fee instead of a collector’s hidden commission, and gives your group what a collector cannot: records that cannot be lost, no single person carrying the cash, verified (KYC) members, and a credit history built through OminiHub:Score, plus partner benefits like insured circles. A collector offers doorstep convenience; Ntoboa suits groups who pool money, want everyone to see it, and want those extra benefits on top.

Mobile money is one person’s personal wallet. Ntoboa is a shared, permanent group ledger with goals, reminders and member visibility, so the whole group, not just one person, can see every cedi.

What happens to our records if Ntoboa shuts down?

Your group’s records belong to your group. You can export your contribution history at any time, and we follow strong data-protection practices in handling it. We are also working toward integrations with CRMs and other financial platforms, so your data can move with you in future.

You can contribute the ways Ghanaians already move money, across every major mobile-money platform in Ghana (MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash and AT Money), plus Visa/Mastercard cards. Everything settles on OminiHub’s licensed rails.

How do we get our group’s money out?

Withdrawals are requested in the app and are visible to the whole group, so a payout is never a private decision. The money goes out over the same OminiHub licensed rails it came in on, straight to the recipient’s mobile wallet or account.
